This large detached holiday house is set among beautiful mature gardens close to the pretty village of Poolewe, making a fine rural retreat with uninterrupted views of the countryside and the river below.

The lovingly restored traditional ministerial house is set on a vantage point, where you can often spot salmon skipping in the waters. The property lies nestled in its own generous gardens away from the road with ample country walks on your doorstep. It is conveniently located near to villages opening onto Loch Ewe, Inverewe Gardens - and beyond inland to mountain ranges, perfect for keen explorers. This self-catering home away from home makes for the perfect tranquil family getaway, mixing relaxation and plenty of options for adventure.

Enter the house into the spacious open plan kitchen/dining space, with attractive wooden features and fittings. Dine in style at the large table for ten or plan for the day at the breakfast table. You can rustle up home cooked meals in the well-equipped kitchen featuring electric hob and oven and make easy work of cleaning up with the dishwasher. The generous lounge features ample soft seating for the whole group surrounding a feature open fire, perfect for curling up by on rainy evenings. Three bright and airy bedrooms, two twins and a single, are situated handily on the ground floor along with a modern bathroom with WC, separate bath and shower. Upstairs, a king-size bedroom and a twin complete the property along with a generous sized bathroom with shower over bath.

Outside, relax in the private enclosed garden taking in the stunning views, enjoying al fresco food and drinks on the patio seating, and breathing in the Highland coastal air. There is ample parking surrounding the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Perfectly situated for exploring the spectacular countryside and coastline of Wester Ross, the property is also just half a mile from the picturesque village of Poolewe. This delightful village features a choice of places to eat and drink, a choice of shops and a swimming pool, and is perched on the edge of Loch Ewe – a vast loch heading out to sea. The charming coastal village of Gairloch (5 miles) also has a number of independent shops and great places to eat and drink, as well as being home to a fascinating folk museum. Nearby are some wonderful sandy beaches and a rocky shoreline to explore – occasionally you may glimpse a whale offshore. The famous Inverewe Gardens are just a mile away and offer a haven of unusual plant and wildlife with opportunities to see red squirrels, red deer, otters, seals and golden eagles, with a stunning array of plants and trees including huge Californian redwoods. This is also a fantastic base for anyone interested in walking, hill-walking, climbing, shooting and stalking, with a number of vast estates nearby including Letterewe (17.5 miles) and Coulin (29 miles). Among many local landmarks are the breathtaking Loch Maree (13 miles), the popular Badachro Distllery (12 miles) and the mountain of Slioch (20.5 miles).

The Manse is a lovely property with plenty of character. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Bedrooms were comfortable and clean. The only suggestion we would have is more light in the sitting room.
