Property code: WCC20

Stylishly updated period cottage, providing chic accommodation for up to six guests, situated at the heart of the popular seaside town of Whitstable, just a short walk from the beach.

Whitstable is one of Kent’s most popular seaside towns, and first-time visitors to the town will soon see why holidaymakers choose to return year-on-year. The town is renowned for its excellent range of independent shops and fantastic choice of restaurants, bistros, and pubs, many of which pride themselves on their creative use of the local produce, including the oysters for which the town is famed. The shingle beach is a pleasant space to spend a day, walking, picnicking, or simply relaxing and enjoying the fresh air and gentle sound of the waves, whilst sporty types may like to try out the range of watersports that the town has to offer.

The front door of this cottage opens onto the light-filled open-plan lounge/diner, an elegant space which has been beautifully finished to provide a sanctuary-like space. The dining area is at the front end of the room, with the lounge towards the rear, where guests will find two deep sofas, a cosy open fire, a Smart TV, Blu-ray player, DVD, iPod dock, and hi-fi. French windows open onto the garden, whilst a doorway leads through to the sleek, contemporary galley-style kitchen which is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The bathroom is also situated on the ground floor and offers a shower-over-bath and WC. Open-tread stairs from the dining area lead up to the first floor where there are three bedrooms. The first of these is set at the front of the house, and is furnished with a king-size bed, a wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom not only has a king-size bed and an iPod dock, but also is used to access the third bedroom: a restful double room.

Outside, the cottage enjoys a stylish, carefully designed rear garden which is mainly set to shingle and has a pretty seaside theme, with garden furniture, festoon lighting, and a coal-fired BBQ. Roadside parking is available locally.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The cottage was lovely and great location for getting to town and the beach. Finding a parking was a nightmare. 10.00am departure is too early.

A homely and beautifully decorated cottage in the heart of Whitstable. Comfy sofas to relax on and comfortable beds for sleeping. The galley kitchen was perfect for cooking the odd meal in and the open plan living and kitchen is great in a holiday setting. Go prepared that you may need to drive round for a parking space, but there is a Paid Car ParRead morek nearby if necessary. We were sad to end our week in Whitstable. Hide

The cottage was absolutely perfect for our stay. We were a group of 6 girls and had plenty of space but was also very cosy! Beds were very comfortable and the cottage was clean. Perfect location as well. Brilliant weekend away!

When we arrived at the cottage another couple turned up and said they had also booked to stay! It turned out the owner had double booked and promised it to some friends. Having booked and paid for our stay months previously this was an incredibly awkward situation to find ourselves in, and put a real downer on the start of our trip. The other couplRead moree kindly agreed to let us have the cottage and we had a brilliant stay after that, but it wasn't a great start! Hide

We'd recommend this cottage to anyone visiting Whitstable. It was beautifully furnished, extremely cosy and in such a great location to explore the high street shops and beach. We all said we'd love to return in the future - excellent value for money!
