For keen golfers, there are seven courses on Arran, the nearest of which are Lamlash (1.5 miles), Whiting Bay (4 miles), and Brodick (4.5 miles). As well as interactive exhibitions inside the castle itself, the formal gardens are worth a wander and children will love the adventure play area.

For those who enjoy a tipple, Arran Brewery (6 miles) specialises in beer and you can take a tour and browse their shop, while the Isle of Arran Distillery and Visitor Centre (17.5 miles) runs whisky tour and taste experiences and you can even take a cask away with you. Not to be missed are the boat trips leaving from Lamlash Pier (1 mile), including the Holy Isle Ferry, or set out on foot to explore Arran's diverse landscape. Adventure seekers and walkers should plan a day for scaling Goat Fell, Arran's highest peak and a hugely popular trail on the island. You can pick up the route from either the Brewery or Brodick Castle, and the panoramic views from the top are incredible.

Comfortable, warm, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Large garden for the dog to mooch in. We enjoyed our stay at The Mulberry. An ideal location, very quiet but within easy walk of co-op at Lamlash and pubs for a bite to eat. Plenty of dog walks without having to get into the car. We would recommend.

We enjoyed our October break at this property. The place was warm and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. Definitely dog friendly with the large garden and doggy welcome pack! The bath towels could have been bigger. Otherwise I would recommend the place for a comfortable stay in Lamlash.
