I would recommend this cottage but only if you are quite fit and mobile, and maybe not over 5 ft5 in as upper bedroom was very tight for space.

A lovely cosy cottage with walks from the door, no need to cross busy roads. Beside a beautiful Church with a separate bell tower, yes the clock chimes on the quarter hour but this can't really be heard inside the cottage and didn't disturb our sleep. The convenience of having a shop right next door was a real bonus. The lovely towns of Ludlow, LedRead morebury and Hay on Wye are really close by as well as Kington which is a great starting point for loads of walks, some taking in parts of Offa's Dyke. Hide

Property converted/refurbished to a good standard, very comfortable and dog friendly. Neighbouring clock tower adds to its charm without being intrusive/disturbing sleep. The only downside, which is beyond hosts control, is that thRead moreere isn't any designated off road parking. The cottage was quaint and probably unique, well situated on the edge of some lovely countryside dotted with other beautiful "black and white" villages. It also shares the churchyard with its rare and ancient bell tower. Regular chimes are not intrusive, rather they add to the charm of the experience of life in a rural village. Beautiful cottage with lovely furnishings. We were greeted with a warm welcome & a very generous welcome basket of local goodies. The kitchen is very well equipped. The garden is huge & fully enclosed, so we were able to let the dogs out stress free. The loft is a bit cramped for a double to be honest, if you're tall, you'd struggle. The owners, who live on site and run the gorgeous Ye Olde Steppes teashop, were very friendly and helpful, and clearly happy to accommodate our two dogs.
