Situated in an idyllic country setting in the small, charming hamlet of Staple Cross, with a neighbouring country pub and under half a mile to Chimney Down Common a perfect place for children and your four-legged friends to let off steam! Centrally located to visit the towns of Bampton, Wiveliscombe, Wellington and Tiverton with independent shops, pubs and cafes. Walkers will be spoilt for choice as the local area encompasses the Blackdown Hills, Quantocks and Exmoor offering a mixture of wild moorland with lush, deep, wooded valleys and pretty villages to enjoy on foot, car, bike. Wimbleball Lake offers water sports, fishing, bird watching and nature trails. If you fancy a day on the beach, explore the North Devon coastline with its small coves and sandy beaches, or Minehead on the Somerset coast.

This former chapel was converted to a charming cottage in 1926, and now offers a standout picturesque property which exudes charm and originality with exposed beams and a handmade herringbone flooring. Enter a wonderful dining/reception room with a solid fuel Rayburn and a bespoke dining table making it a great space to enjoy a snack or a special meal. From here head into the lounge, where you can settle in for a snug evening with a bottle of wine and a film on the Smart TV in front of the wood burner. Back into the dining/reception room and through to the beautiful handmade kitchen with an electric double oven and ceramic hob, larder fridge, dishwasher and microwave, it is a great space for cooking lazy breakfasts or trying out new recipes. There is also a utility room with a washing machine and a useful cloakroom with WC. Heading upstairs, the property benefits from a light and airy landing and three bedrooms. The first is a triple aspect king-size bedroom with far-reaching views and a stunning en-suite shower room with shower and WC. There is also a twin bedroom and a double bedroom. Completing the accommodation is a family bathroom with a shower over bath and WC.

Venturing outside is a small shingle stone front garden area with a stone wall boundary with some seating. Head across the quiet country lane to a timber garage like none other it benefits from trifold doors, a pitched roof, wood-fired hot tub, bar, smart TV and seating it is a truly fantastic fun space. Behind is a small, enclosed courtyard with further seating, chimenea and coal BBQ plus a handy dog bath for those muddy paws. There is parking for two cars to the front of the garage and further roadside parking.

This was a lovely house and the location was great. Rooms was a good size. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything you needed. Was perfect. And hot tub was great. Definitely would recommend this to friends and family and would stay again if we visit Devon again

We had a fabulous weekend, the decor was incredible and left us all wanting to redesign our houses! The hot tub was warmed up for when we arrived. Not much around but was perfect for us as we didnt want to venture out.

Spent a week in this beautiful cosy cottage with a few friends and our dog. When arriving George had been really helpful and gave us a tour and nothing was ever too much trouble! The location was peaceful and we slept very well every night. The Cottage was beautiful - for the dogs there is no garden only the gravel at the front of the property and the gravel area in the entertaining area across the road which was lovely but hot tub was abit of hardwork

A beautiful property, refurbished to a very high standard with amazing attention to detail. Fully equipped with everything you need, even for the dogs. The hot tub, dog bath and garden terrace make it extra special and the owners were really helpful and made us feel very welcome. The location is quite remote, down some narrow Devon lanes, so reversRead moreing skills are required, but it is worth it. Plenty to do in the area and not too far for a day at Exmouth beach. Absolutely amazing. We could not fault the holiday in anyway. The location of the old chapel is ideal for visits out each day and the luxuries available at the chapel also made it ideal for Lazy days of staying in. We did both. The property was superb, extremely high quality, well thought out. George showed us round, and nothing was too much trouble for him to make our stay comfortable and memorable.
