Former-forge located on a working dairy farm, just one mile from the stunning coastline of the Hartland Peninsula, a dedicated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with pretty coves and scenic coastal walks within easy access.

This property enjoys a quiet rural location where visitors can join the South West Coast Path, which will bring them to secluded coves, river valleys, and picturesque waterfalls. The views, of course, are stunning, but the number of shipwrecks which walkers pass is a stark reminder of the tempestuous nature of the sea. Luckily for beach-lovers, there are several lovely sandy beaches, within easy reach, including those at Westward Ho! and Bude, which are both around a thirty-minute drive from the property. Bude also has a tidal pool, providing safe bathing no matter what the conditions at sea.

This single-storey property is perfect for those who want to enjoy a holiday away from the stresses of daily life. The lounge/diner provides a cosy and welcoming space in which to relax, with its warming open fire, TV/DVD. In the warmer months, guests can throw open the patio door and enjoy the breeze and the fresh countryside air from the comfortable sofas. The kitchen offers a second dining space, in the form of a breakfast bar and is equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, washing machine, and fridge, whilst a separate storage area houses the freezer and tumble dryer, as well as providing a secure place in which to store bikes, etc. There are two bedrooms in the property: a master double, and a pretty twin room. The bathroom in the property offers a shower over bath and WC.

Outside, there is a spacious, enclosed garden, mainly set to lawn, to the side of the property, which has garden furniture, providing guests with their own area to sit and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. Guests are welcome to take a look around the farm, but should remember that this is a working farm and children will need to be supervised. There is ample parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Location was a bit more more remote than we expected. Access to and egress from the location was through narrow one track lanes and were not the easiest to drive. Other than this the break was excellent and it was very quiet and peaceful.

Lovely warm cottage, great location for walking the coast path, we had rain and wind most days but still found things to do, and always came back to a nice warm cottage, real fire was a treat in the evenings after a wet day out, great enclosed garden for the dog, would be lovely to sit in in warmer dryer weather as well, use of a washing machine anRead mored tumble dryer was fantastic and much needed after getting wet and muddy, watched the cows being milked was a treat. The cottage was slightly dated but really comfortable and had everything we needed apart from a hairdryer. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway with great walking opportunities this is the place. No pub or shop within walking distance but Hartland is only 3 miles away and has a couple of great pubs and local shops. Areas of both Devon and CornRead morewall are within easy reach and a visit to Welcombe Mouth beach and Docton Mill Gardens and Tearooms is recommended. We had a fabulous holiday. Hide

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is lovely especially as our border collie enjoyed the big enclosed garden. So nice to see cows going by each morning. Very peaceful and relaxing.

we found the property ideal. Half a mile from the costal path and the spectacular cliffs. Very quiet, only a few tractors going by. A large closed in garden made our little dog very happy. We will definitely return.

We have just had the most wonderful week away in this perfect little bungalow, if peace and quiet is what you want, this is it. It was perfect for our blind little dog too as the garden is fenced all around. It has everything you could want, and the family in the farmhouse were lovely and helpful.
