Internet connection had to be through the extension which was fine except it could not be seen on two of our devices. Appreciate that this might be out of owners control Central heating did not work but this was not a problem for that week Heating on the final wet and cold day might have been helpful (owner did supply a convection heater for us butRead more this wasn't a help in the shower room) Hide

The location in Priddy is perfect for long country walks and the Pen is lovely for relaxing in the evenings after the evening meal. We visited during the COVID-19 lockdown and thus very very cautious about where we visited, so the type and location of our accommodation had to good. The Pen matched all our criteria perfectly. The Pen is snug little place ideally situated in Priddy to explore th Mendips. The owners live in their house next door and couldn't have been more helpful. They provided a lovely welcome pack when I arrived of fresh bread from the farm shop, milk, butter, eggs and a couple of bottles of local brew. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our week at The Pen. It is a very peaceful location and the property is well equipped and very comfortable. It made the perfect base from which to explore Wells, Cheddar Gorge and the nature reserves on the Avalon Marshes.

Very generous Welcome pack, and owners very accommodating. The mobile phone signal is non-existent, and broadband is shared with owners. Washing facilities are only available within the owners property.

Beautifully situated cottage but the property wasnt too clean and was in need of some TLC. Several items, as already stated, need replacing. The welcome pack of cider, beer, eggs, bread and milk was much appreciated. The dining chairs , however, have seen better days , also the small coffee table.

We really enjoyed our short stay at 'The Pen.' Mike and Claire were very friendly and helpful. We appreciated the fresh bread, eggs, milk, cider and beer etc. on arrival (unexpected but a lovely welcoming touch). The pub is only a short walk away and the cottage is in an ideal location for many attractions.

The cottage is ideal for a few nights in the countryside. It is in a good location for exploring the area. There is a farm shop with good food over the road and a decent pub within walking distance. The air is fresh and it is really quiet around - apart from the dawn chorus!
