Enjoy a relaxing getaway in a luxurious Scandinavian lodge. A perfect holiday home for a family looking for a secluded spot in lovely countryside on the edge of the North York Moors.

The village of Great Ayton is located on the outskirts of the North Yorkshire Moors. Around the village there are several interesting walks, also an excellent base for the more adventurous walker wishing to explore the nearby North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The local iconic landmark Roseberry Topping is located within close proximity, with routes to the top so you can enjoy the spectacular views from the summit. The village of Stokesley is a must visit, with cobbled streets, boutique shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants. Head to the Yorkshire heritage coastline with fishing villages of Staithes, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Saltburn with winding streets and where fish and chips eateries are plentiful.

A stylishly decorated lodge with individual design features will make for a memorable stay. Step inside from the veranda, you will find the accommodation well laid out in an open-plan design. In true lodge character, you have the warmth of the natural wood blended tastefully with contemporary interior. The lounge area has comfortable seating around a large Smart TV, ideal to sit back and relax and plan the next adventure. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal including an electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine and the dining area has table and chairs to comfortably seat four. There is a choice of a king-size bedroom with flat screen TV or a double that can be made up as a twin on request, both with quality bedding and fluffy robes for each guest.

The attractive village of Great Ayton (1.5 miles) has a wonderful village vibe. With a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafes and tearooms, you could eat out every night if you wanted to. As home to a young Captain Cook, there is also the Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum which allows you to explore his early life in the surrounding area. If you love to walk, from Great Ayton you can walk up to Roseberry Topping (2.5 miles), a prominent hill with lots of walking trails that lead up to the distinctive summit and cliffs.

The vibrant little village of Osmotherley (14.5 miles) is well-known as a starting point for walkers and cyclists. This gorgeous little place is real picture-postcard stuff. It also offers excellent facilities including a cafe, village stores and a fish and chip shop. If you're a bit of a foodie, this part of Yorkshire is packed with fantastic gastropubs, restaurants and delis. Situated within the western reaches of the North York Moors, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1987, Osmotherley has close proximity to lush pastures and woodlands. The western moors play host to grand country houses, atmospheric ruins and handsome market towns, and the views from here are simply stunning, plus there are walks and cycle routes in every direction. You are very close to the famous Cleveland Way as well as many more well-known and picturesque moorland walks, some of which lead all the way to the sea.

Great Ayton’s position at the northern end of the North York Moors means the coast is easily accessible from here. To breathe in the fresh, sea air, head to seaside town Saltburn-by-the-Sea (11 miles) with its pier, cliff tramway, golden sand and clean surf.

If you’re looking for something a little more cosmopolitan, head 7.5 miles north to the bustling town of Middlesbrough. Here you’ll find a wider range of shops and eateries, as well as a selection of museums, galleries, parks and sights.
