A stunning family home with sea views, on the Isle of Arran right on the beach at Lamlash Bay, with shops and pubs less than 1 mile away in the village of Lamlash.

This large family home sleeps eight, making it perfect for family gatherings or two families sharing. It is well-placed for those who want to enjoy an active break in the countryside, while still being near local facilities. There is a good choice of cafes and restaurants in Lamlash, and even more choice in Brodick, 3 miles away. Lamlash Beach, a long strip of soft sand, is a few hundred metres from the front door.

The house is light, bright and all on one level. The living room is spacious, with fantastic views out over the water, and beautiful sunsets to enjoy. It has a large bay window with a window seat, perfect for enjoying those views, and a choice of comfortable sofas for afternoons and evenings relaxing. There is an open-plan kitchen/diner, with a family dining table that's large enough for everyone to gather for meals. There's everything you'll need for holiday cooking, including an electric oven, induction hob, fridge, washing machine, microwave and dishwasher. There is a master bedroom with an en-suite, a double, a twin and a separate cot bedroom, along with a family bathroom. The final bedroom, a double with an en-suite, is in the separate annexe.

Outside, there is a large garden with lawns and mature trees and shrubs, with a path leading down to the sea. There is also an outside seating area with furniture, perfect for dining alfresco, as well as off-street parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Lamlash is a charming village which is home to an 18-hole golf club and the fascinating Octopus Centre. Walkers can head a couple of miles inland to explore the ancient Dyemill woodlands, or south to see the Neolithic Giants' Caves (5.5 miles) or to discover the Glenashdale Falls (6 miles). From Lamlash, you can catch a ferry to the tranquil Holy Isle. Whiting Bay (5 miles) also has a wonderful golf course and is a great base for cyclists.

North of Lamlash, Brodick is the main village and port on Arran, with a choice of great places to eat and drink and a range of shops and activities including an 18-hole golf course, bowling and putting greens and a sandy beach. You can visit the historic Brodick Castle, Garden and Country Park (6 miles), the Arran Heritage Museum (4.5 miles), the dramatic peak of Goatfell (9 miles) and the Isle of Arran Distillery (17 miles). A number of Neolithic stone circles are dotted throughout the island, the best known of which can be seen on Machrie Moor (15 miles).

The northern and western parts of Arran are a haven for walkers and nature-lovers, with red deer often seen north of the String road (9 miles). The island also has populations of red squirrels and Eurasian otters, and you may see birds including golden eagles, ospreys, peregrines, kestrels and buzzards, or sea-life such as basking sharks, porpoise, common seals and grey seals.
