Property code: DC188

Situated on the edge of a popular nature reserve, this spacious property is full of character and makes a lovely holiday home for a family or group keen to explore the countryside near Poole Harbour.

Nature-lovers have plenty to choose from in this idyllic area. The cottage is just a few metres from RSPB Arne, a nature reserve with ancient oak woodlands and home to all six of the UK’s native reptile species. You will also be close to RSPB Stoborough Heath (4 miles), the picturesque Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve (3 miles) and Durlston Country Park (12 miles). The nearby town of Wareham (4 miles) has a variety of great places to eat and drink, as does the charming seaside town of Swanage (11.5 miles). From Studland (10.5 miles) you can catch a ferry to Poole or to the beautiful Brownsea Island. Other attractions include Corfe Castle (5.5 miles) and Lulworth Cove (12 miles).

On entering this spacious and quirky property, which incorporates a former pottery studio, you will find a glazed porch which is perfect for boots and coats. This leads you through to the hall and into the first lounge which is a relaxing and inviting space with plenty of seating and TV/DVD. Moving into the stylish open-plan kitchen/diner you will find a lovely dining area, perfect for enjoying a celebratory meal. The kitchen with ceramic floor is equipped with a double oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge, freezer and dryer. Next to this room is the cosy and imaginatively decorated second lounge, with TV/DVD, a brick fireplace, iPod dock and wood burner. A galleried landing runs above this room. Exploring the ground floor further you will find two comfortable bedrooms: a twin room and a bunk bedroom. There are also two bathrooms on the ground floor, each with a shower over the bath and a WC. Two staircases lead upstairs. One staircase leads up from the bunk bedroom up to the gallery and along to a large triple bedroom with single beds. The main staircase leads up to an additional triple room with single beds, a double bedroom (which can be made up as a twin room on request) and a bathroom complete with shower over the bath and a WC. There is a connecting door between the first triple room and the double.

Stepping outside, the garden features a substantial lawn with trees and shrubs to the front. The garden is fenced to the lane but is not childproof and is often visited by deer. At the back of the property, there’s a gravelled seating area and a raised bank with a tree house which is off-limits to guests. There is ample off-road parking.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Cottage is in a lovely location however is let down by the damp walls and flaking paintwork. Due to covid the place has been empty for about 3 months. It would of been an ideal time to give the place a refresh to prevent feedback like this.

Do you want monsoon showers, granite worktops & barista coffee machines in your holiday home? If so, keep looking. However, if you want a huge, spacious house with a large garden, perfect for hide-and-seek, The Studio is ideal. It also has a bramble patch for berry picking (in July) - the children loved making blackberry crumble. There are fantastiRead morec country walks from right outside the gate & tons to do nearby. The house is homely & I loved the paintings & photos from the owners' time abroad. Hide

The Stable is a wonderful property in a stunning location. There is so much space and light in the house it was a real pleasure to spend my special birthday week there with my family and friends joining in on different days. Although some aspects of the house do need updating, for a holiday in a beautiful and peaceful location it was perfect.

We enjoyed our stay in Arne. The Studio is in a great location with lovely walks straight from the house. However we feel a few improvements to furniture, showers etc are needed.

The Studio at Arne is a spacious and comfortable house, ideally located for any family that loves walking and exploring the countryside. Walking through the adjacent RSPB reserve down to the beach is a delight, and nearby Corfe Castle and Studland are also great places for days out. We had a wonderful stay at The Studio.

Good size house with adequate equipment but having stayed in many other homes in this location would be happier to stay again if the damp was treated

Good cottage but needing some maintenance. Fridge/freezer not working properly as doors not closing. Front door lock not working. Ladybird infestation of all metal windows.

We had a really great time over Christmas. The house is large, clean, well equipped and we enjoyed a big family get together enormously. One slight moan ... we had a great deal of difficulty with the lock on the rear kitchen door. At first we could not get in and panicked with the approach of Christmas and it being late in the afternoon. On a couplRead moree of occasions we could not lock that door at night and just had to live with it. We strongly suggest this is resolved with a locksmith. Hide
