Our cottage was small and compact with a well equipped kitchen, nice shower, and separate toilet. The cottage had everything you needed, was lovely and warm, the bed and pillows comfortable, with a fantastic view of the mountains, a nice enclosed garden for the dogs, they loved it, and were very spoilt.

Really lovely cottage, just a few minutes drive to Keswick. Very quiet location. We took our well behaved cocker spaniel and there was plenty of room for us all. Really well appointed and spotlessly clean. The gallery is stacked full of really nice gifts and well worth visiting as is the coffee shop was excellent.

A fab little gem which was everything dog friendly we could wish for! A fab view of Skiddaw, on the doorstep walks in the woods or round Bassenthwaite. The icing was that there was a Gallery/Tea Shop in the same building! Brilliant!

This cottage is in a very small village with access via a single lane road. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place for you. There is a lovely garden which is great when the weather is fine and there are excellent views towards Skiddaw. There nearest pub/restaurant is in nearby Braithwaite which is approx 1.5 miles away. The location was ideal for us with plenty of varied walks to suit all types, we particularly liked the walk to Bassenthwaite Lake which our dog loved. The garden was lovely, it was nice to sit outside sheltered under the arch and enjoy the spectacular view no matter what the weather. It was our second visit and we will definitely be back.

The Elm at Thornthwaite was a perfect little space. The views are beautiful. The bed was comfy and all the appliances worked perfectly. The people who own the cottage are so hospitable and friendly. I travel a lot and have a high standard and the Elm did not disappoint.

Cottage is very nice but we were surprised to see that the lounge and the bedroom were in the same room. It worked ok for us as our dogs are well behaved and stayed on their own beds.

This cottage has excellent views and a great location; the shared garden was great for the dog and there was ample parking. There wasnt a great deal of privacy in the cottage so we wouldnt recommend it for romantic getaways, but otherwise the amenities were good.

It was beautifully clean and I appreciated mattress and pillow protectors. Small, but was as described and suited us as an older couple very well. The garden was nicely maintained plus garden furniture and so was lovely for a cup of tea and for the dogs. Nice touches like a pint of milk and walk suggestions.

Lovely little cottage in a quiet location. Some great personal touches by the owners - small towels for wet and muddy paws, milk, tea and coffee on arrival etc. Only 10 minutes from Keswick and on the doorstep of the Northern Lakes. We loved our stay and would definitely think of staying there again.

The studio is in a beautiful area of the Lake district and makes a good base for sight seeing around the North Lakes. Thornthwaite is a small village and there is not much there, so you may need to travel to Keswick for provisions.

Cosy small studio apartment situated in beautiful Thornthwaite. Owners were very helpful making sure we were able t find the property when we arrived late and in the dark. The apartment does not have all mod cons but given the rental price I consider it offers good value for money.
