The village of Syderstone is located surrounded by stunning countryside in rural Norfolk, making it an ideal location for enjoying scenic walks and cycle rides around the local area. In fact, the village common extends to 4 square miles and is great for walking dogs or simply stretching your legs. The market town of Fakenham is located eight miles from the property and is an excellent place for a day trip, offering a good range of shops and places to eat. Ten miles to the north, meanwhile, the stunning Holkham estate covers an amazing 25,000 acres of land, including the grounds of Holkham Hall, beautiful pinewoods, and the idyllic wide sandy beach at Holkham Bay.

On arrival at this Grade II listed property, guests will find one external step leads up to the front door and into the hallway Once inside, the lounge is the first room that guests will come to, a cosy room with comfortable seating, a warming wood burner in the fireplace, and a Smart TV/DVD with Sky channels. A door to the rear of this room leads through to a small study, beyond which the kitchen has a breakfast table seating eight guests, and is well-equipped with an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. Continuing towards the rear of the house, guests will pass a shower room with a shower and WC on the left before moving through to the contemporary-style extension which is home to the light-filled dining room boasts folding doors which open onto the spacious garden. The dining room is open plan to the sun room, which has been set up as a second lounge, an inviting room opening onto the garden. A fantastic addition to this room is the glass-fronted crow’s nest which is accessed via open-tread stairs from the dining room and offers a raised seating area ideal for taking a few quiet moments. Two of the property’s bedrooms can also be found on the property’s sprawling ground floor, the first of which is situated opposite the lounge and is a king-size room with a wrought iron bedstead and a feature fireplace. The second bedroom, meanwhile, is situated to the rear of the house next to the sun room and is a pretty double room with direct access to the garden. Stairs from the lounge lead to the first floor where there are two further bedrooms. The first of these is a light and airy room with a double bed and beamed ceiling, whilst the fourth bedroom is a bunk bedroom which is ideal for children and offers an additional children’s day bed, allowing the property to accommodate up to 8 guests (7 adults maximum). The bathroom on this floor has a roll-top bath and WC, but guest should be aware that the sloping ceiling means that there is some reduced head-height in this room.

A very attractive cottage , well equipped with comfortable beds, with space for 6 people to spread out. Very pretty well kept garden and beautiful views from the lounge/diner. Reasonable wifi. The Crow's Nest was a great hit with the children.

The cottage was great for two of us and our two dogs. The gardens are enclosed so our four-legged friends could not escape. The location is excellent in terms of being able to walk to the local common and also to drive to places like Brancaster, Wells, Holt and Sheringham. It was usually peaceful (the Air Force sometimes flew over at an unsociable Read morehour!) and the hammock in the back garden was especially welcome for lounging in the sun. The Wi-fi was also excellent. Wed definitely return. Hide

We enjoyed our stay during half term. The house was a good location for us - only about 15 mins from the bird-watching coast, and a few minutes to the main A-road, so easy to get to other places. We did struggle with the heating system (though that was probably us). However I think it would be lovely in summer as there is a fabulous extension at thRead moree back that overlooks the garden (great for dogs and kids) and the paddocks/field beyond. Hide

We had a wonderful week at this cottage, very comfortable, caters to all your needs, the garden is great, the dogs loved it. It was just the 2 of us & 2 dogs, but I think if the house is at full capacity, there are not enough seats in the room where the tv is, if you all wanted to sit down & watch something, but fine for us.
