Located in the picturesque village of Glenelg, amidst one of the most scenic areas in the Scottish Highlands. The village boasts a wonderful friendly Inn and the famous 10-minute local ferry trip to the magical mystical Isle of Skye. Walkers and Munro baggers are spoilt for choice with numerous local glens and nearby mountain ranges to explore and water sports enthusiasts will be delighted with sea kayaking available in Glenelg bay. Visit the splendid Sandaig Islands, local Brochs and Jacobite barracks. Enjoy a tip to Dornie and visit Eilean Donan castle. The pretty villages of Plockton, Applecross and the Kyle of Lochalsh are all within easy reach.

On arrival at this spacious accommodation all on one level you will find the welcoming lounge is the perfect place to relax after a long journey with its open fire, TV/DVD and a selection of books, board games and dvd’s provided. The well-equipped kitchen/diner is generously-sized with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and tumble dyer. The dining area with seating for ten is a great space for special celebrations or family meals. Leading back through the hallway you will find the bathroom with lovely relaxing jacuzzi bath and WC and shower room with the hydrotherapy massage/steam shower and WC. All of the property’s five bedrooms are spacious and tastefully decorated one is King-size, one double, one twin with T/VDVD and one triple with three single beds and TV/DVD

Stepping back outside you will find the lovely enclosed garden laid to lawn with table, seating and BBQ for you to enjoy al fresco dining while you take in the amazing views from the property. There is ample off-street parking.

The cottage is situated just outside the picturesque village of Glenelg (3 miles) and is set in one of the most scenic spots in the Scottish Highlands. The village is home to a friendly inn, a number of shops and the remains of the 18th century Bernera Barracks. Glenelg perches on the shore of Kyle Rhea, with a number of beaches close by. You can reach the magical Isle of Skye (5 miles) via the Glenelg Ferry which takes just ten minutes and you may get to spot otters, dolphins and seals as you cross the loch. Keen walkers and munro baggers will be spoilt for choice with a plethora of beautiful glens and stunning mountain ranges to explore. You can visit Sandaig – the home of Gavin Maxwell, the author of Ring of Bright Water – and the Sandaig Islands (7 miles) or the former fishing village of Dornie – home of the famous Eilean Donan Castle (14.5 miles). You can also attempt the Five Sisters of Kintail walk which includes the summits of Sgurr na Ciste Duibhe (11.5 miles), Sgurr na Carnach (10.5 miles) and Sgurr Fhuaran (12.5 miles). Other local peaks include Beinn Fhada (13.5 miles) or you could head to the spectacular viewpoint for Loch Duich (13 miles)

The cottage was spacious and comfortable. It had just about everything we needed and it was in a great location. Staying a week was great value for money but the price for 10 nights was going to be almost double and therefore was not good value so we just stayed a week.
