Rugged Dartmoor is an exciting place to be, and with pedigree cattle living around your Devon getaway, this is the perfect place to see a side to Devon which is often overlooked. Of course, with easy access to the A30, the leafy south coast and sandy north coast are all a short drive away, meaning beach days are easy for all the family. The cathedral city of Exeter is close by, and offers a wide range of boutique shops along its cobbled streets, as well as a variety of independent eateries and bars. Other attractions within easy reach of the property include Castle Drogo, Crealy Devon and countless National trust properties and gardens. You can also take advantage of the owner's beauty treatment room on-site which offers a range of treatments. Please contact the owner for further information.

There are three bedrooms within the property - one king-size with TV and en-suite shower and WC, one king-size with TV and Juliette balcony and one twin with TV. The main bathroom has a separate bath and shower with WC and there is a separate WC on the ground floor of the property. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is arranged over a split-level and has a wood burner with first bag of logs provided, a TV/DVD and French doors leading outside. The kitchen area has everything you could want to feed a group of people and includes an electric double oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. There is also a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The property has its own private enclosed patio area with garden furniture, BBQ and private hot tub. There are three lakes on the property grounds, one of which guests are welcome to fish in, and is stocked with carp, tench and roach. There is also a shared play area which includes an enclosed trampoline, family basket swing, sandpit, trapeze and a variety of swings which are suitable for all ages. There is also the opportunity to see and spend time with a range of farm animals and to collect free-range eggs from the chickens. Ample off-road parking available.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had another perfect holiday, just chilling out, doing nothing but walking our dog each day, and of course using the hot tub, Geoff and Lorraine are very accommodating, nothing seems to be too much trouble, we are going back again in several weeks time...

What a super barn conversion this was offering fantastic high standards of finish throughout . The welcome pack was first class for all the family. The hot tub was a really nice touch , this was truly outstanding. The owners where wonderful hosts and should be very proud of the accommodation they have put together. The cottage was immaculate, situated on a working farm which also has a very high standard of tidiness and cleanliness. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and guests are welcome to stroll around. The welcome tray was outstanding with a cream tea, butter eggs, wine and and fresh flowers. It would be difficult to improve on this holiday cottage.

Amazing place to stay I would say the best place we have been to in the UK for kids. The hosts are amazing and have so much patience with little ones (ours are 4&2) we have already booked for next Easter.

Our stay at Leafy Nook was fabulous. It is better than the pictures ( and the pictures were good). We were a family of three: a husband, 8-year old and a dog. The owners were very helpful and friendly and my daughter loved the animals, play area and the hot tub. Cant wait to go back.

The cottage is of a very high standard, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and comfortable.
