Situated in the Peak District’s popular Dovedale Region, this detached barn conversion is the perfect choice for walkers looking for a homely and comfortable base from which to explore the National Park.

This property is nestled in the small hamlet of Hulme End in Staffordshire’s share of the Peak District National Park. With the Manifold Way a stone’s throw away, which stretches some 8 miles south to the village of Waterhouses, this property is ideally located for walkers and dogs alike. Other trails, such as the Tissington trail and the High Peak trail can be picked up with 3 miles from the barn. The local village of Hartington sits 2.5 miles away on the River Dove and boasts shops and pubs including a cheese shop selling a range of local delights.

The detached barn situated in the owners grounds has a tiled reception hall which welcomes you into the property, leading through to a spacious farmhouse style kitchen. Equipped  with everything you should need throughout your stay, the extensive workspace and a large kitchen table make this a great room for entertaining. Once you’ve finished your meal, the adjoining sitting room with a woodburner and vaulted beamed trussed ceiling is a cosy space to spend the rest of the evening.

The second bedroom is also located on this floor, with two single beds that can easily be linked together to make a double as per your request at the time of booking, while a wet room with shower completes the ground floor. Upstairs the master bedroom features an interesting exposed truss, oak flooring and an en suite bathroom. Next door, a snug room with TV and study desk area has a sofa bed to create a further bedroom if needed. The barn enjoys panoramic views across the Manifold Valley from three vantage points, each with its own sitting area. Dogs will enjoy the large fenced lawn, while the pretty patio with potted plants is the perfect spot for a summer BBQ.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a super time even in the rain with a lovely cottage and welcoming host although we were surprised at the lack of light and limited views from windows to wonderful country side. My only complaint is that the dog secure field wasnt fully secure having a style leading to the lanes and other fields. A determined dog could get out and having lostRead more a dog to an rta felt unable to take my eyes off them whilst in the field. There is also a low wall so a dog that jumps could be tempted. Hide

Yes,definitely,already have.Mr Grace is lovely,the barn is perfect for canine customers and their owners.Well equipped ,beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean,compliments to Mr Grace and his staff.Great walking on the doorstep and in more normal times would have made use of the local pubs! Hope to visit again in the not too distant future!

As a comfortable temporary home to explore the area, West Side Barn is perfect. The dogs also appreciated the facilities with an ideal enclosed, attached paddock to 'let off steam'.

Location perfect,walk from door.paddock safe4dogs&kids2play in.We do alot of cooking on holiday&this cottage was well eqiupped with all those little extras that make a holiday run smoother.Wet room was spot on4muddy dog&kids! The perfect location for a relaxing holiday. The barn is beautifully renovated, and fitted and furnished with thought and taste. The adjacent paddock was perfect for our German Shepherd.
